Whew! What a knitting year folks. Let's talk a little about a couple of challenges I am working through on WIPS and then look back at whether my planification and how that went. I also tallied up how much I started and finished. Whoa! Then a philosophical discussion on what stash means to me, my habits and what, if anything needs to change. Finally a quick review of my experience with the HPKCHC :)

Enjoy

Hi all,

I've finally had a moment to catch my breath and catch up with all of you! In this episode, we chat about a bunch of finished objects, how I'm finding that I can't have just one type of knit all the things needles, how to be super picky about winding yarn for self-striping socks and my findings on which retail establishments that I buy from have good turkey day and weekend sales... research, for science, you're welcome :)

Hi all,

Can you believe it's already been a year? I can't. Good grief that was fast--and rather satisfying. In this episode, I reflect a little on why I started podcasting and whether I've gotten out of it what I had hoped. And then I turn to yarny content with several finished objects and works in progress as well as an explanation of why my chaos is getting a little out of hand ;)

Enjoy the show!

Hi all,

In this episode, we chat about two at a time socks, my cowl options and yarn, some shawl thoughts, a little retail therapy combined with my love of wonderland yarns (not sponsored--my actual opinion) and prepping for the holidays.

Hi everyone. In this episode we chat about some fun finished things, some continued WIPs (and a new one that's making me wonder if I need a sanity test) and some considerations about what sweater pattern I should choose for myself. Also, I should wear more lipstick :)  Join me!

Hi,

Join me in this new episode where we talk about wee cute little knitted pumpkins, improving gauge, some cute new acquisitions and thoughts on the voluntary commercialization of our hobby.

Sep 17, 2017

Hi all,

This episode we talk about how I've been knitting and finishing ALL THE THINGS! No, seriously, I only have one WIP right now and 5 FOs! How did that even happen?!

I had a disaster of mediocre proportion and one of minor proportion. We revisit where I'm at on accomplishing my 2017 knitting plans and talk about how I think I've figured out the problem with my gauge. Maybe. And then my gratitude for this great craft.

Hi there,

In this episode I talk about my cast on and finish fest all in the name of Stashdash! The merits for me about participating in that type of thing and other contest/groups that have me churning out projects faster than ever, a potential failed project and some fun things I'm starting/trying.

Please come join me!

Welcome to the latest episode where we chat about finished objects, my remaining stashdash deficit, a bit of a yarn shop travelogue and I'm a bit at odds and ends for what precisely to cast on next:)  Please note that there is static for just a minute or two near the end of the first quarter of the episode, but I get it fixed almost immediately and it's clear the remainder of the episode :)

Enjoy!

Welcome to the latest episode where we chat about lots of progress, how much fun icording is and I give a quick review of some Oregon and Nevada yarn shops and purchases. I'm a little post-vacation punchy ;) You've been warned.

Hi all,

Welcome to my 16th episode. I have a finished object, and progress on a few projects after having had to frog (June was a very froggy month!).  I've also got a few acquisitions and an itch to start knitting some things for the holidays (Christmas in July Itch?).

Come have a listen!

Hi there!

In this episode, I finished some socks that are the cutest anklety anklets.  I'm appreciating the difference in speed of knitting a dk sweater versus worsted :(  I also chatter a bit about being helpful members of our knitting community and generous with our help for newbies and people trying to learn a new skill.

Enjoy the show.

Hi there!

In this episode, I finished a hat and a truly gorgeous sweater (I'm super satisfied with it!).  I've succumbed to another spring/summer cast on and generally am unwilling to knit on anything that isn't zingtastic on spring/summer color :)  I also chatter a bit about good friends, trips and the journey to getting comfy with being part of the knitting circle.

Apr 3, 2017

Hi there!

In this episode, I finished one sock (and finally worry about catching second sock syndrome), am about 20 minutes from finishing my Sockhead Slouch Hat. The Chuck is working out beautifully and we have a chat about being real and needing to let Springfest colors slide through your fingers as you create.

I also chatter a bit about good friends, trips and a doggy saga.

Hi there!

In this episode, I am relieved to have another pair of socks done--the palate cleanser. I talk about learning how to ladder down cable rows to add cables I forgot and switch directions when I've done it wrong. Ahem. And I chatter a bit about feeling a little directionless in my next knitting projects--except for the do rag ;).

Hi there!

In this episode, I am relieved to have a pair of socks done that are wearable (but still not perfect). I resurrect some previously languishing socks (with mistakes in them) and start a nice ribbed sock palate cleanser. I talk about a couple of other WIPs, my inability to accurately count rows, a delicious yarn store I visited when I was in Denver and some of the indie dyed skeins I brought home. Finally, I chat about my plans to avoid my annual spring hermitting.

Hi there!

In this episode, I positively gush over how beautiful my FO is. We talk about how great Susan B Anderson's Smooth Operator pattern is, some of my other WIPs and a languish anguish that will be picked back up likely before next episode. I search for some sympathy on science fair boards and tech that always fills up at the same time and my very complicated relationship with "perfection."

Hi there!

In this episode, we talk the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat--or a finished object and total frog.  We also chat about some WIPs I'm excited about, a languish anguish, a rant and a rave and some deep thoughts about how its important for me to remember that knitting is my joy and I get joy from the journey (unless I forget that focus).  It's also a lovely day as I podcast and I'm a little giddy from all of the fresh air.

Hi there in this episode, we talk about my WIPs (spice market is almost done!! and nerding out on yarnquest), my on deck cast-on-all-the-things desires, my visit from my long lost sewing mojo (and resulting gorgeous new knitting bags), a rant and a rave as well as some deep? thoughts on crafty competitors (and how odd that is). Throughout, I end up laughing at myself a lot. I guess I'm just not a take myself too seriously kind of girl!

Please join me in my nerding out and giggles! Show notes can be found at saltyjoknits.com

Jan 10, 2017

Hi there in this episode, we talk about my latest finished objects (pixelated pullover!!!), my wips and getting my geek on (Yarn Quest MKAL anyone), the final round up of my truly gluttonous retail therapy with holiday cash, a rant and a rave as well as a fairly personal segment on why I feel like I can't actually knit all the things because of some recent body image issues that have cropped up. Not a downer, just an honest assessment.

Please join me in my yarn gluttony celebration and get to know my deep thoughts about things that affect getting my yarn on! Show notes can be found at saltyjoknits.com
